The list of American companies to cut ties with Russia expands

Dell becomes latest company to cease business with Russia

Dell has been added to the list of American companies to deny service to Russia, following the United States import restrictions to the region.

According to Reuters, U.S. companies are required to obtain licenses to sell

  • Computers
  • Sensors
  • Lasers
  • Navigation tools
  • Telecommunications
  • Aerospace and marine equipment

Foreign companies utilizing American made tools must also seek a license prior to shipping to Russia. Although the list of restrictions is extensive, the U.S government is still allowing these items to be exported.

  •  Household electronics
  • Humanitarian goods
  •  Technology necessary for flight safety
  • Cell phones are permitted as long as they are not sent to Russian government employees

A memorandum issued to Dell partners stated all partners are prohibited from directly or indirectly doing business with any sanctioned individuals or entities, including banks, blocked or restricted from payment under the laws of the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, or other applicable jurisdiction.
