Teamwork makes the dream work

Employee engagement creates a happy work environment

As much as we would all love to wake up every day energized, motivated, and ready to take on the world.  Unfortunately that isn’t a realistic expectation. Some days we need to work extra hard to be successful, which is why it is important that we find ways to engage with our employees to motivate them. Happy employees are more motivated to produce quality work.

Here are some ways to motivate your employees:

  • Schedule regular one-on-one meetings
  • Encourage creativity
  • Reward your team for their hard work
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration

Regular one-on-one meetings

Putting a face to the name creates a relationship between manager and employee and these types of meetings show your team that you care how they are doing and how they feel about their position in the company.  These meetings are the best time to get a direct report from the staff about how their projects are going and where things can be improved.

Creativity

Repetition can often feel robotic. Unless you’re working in a factory, then there should be some wiggle room for a bit of creativity as long as everyone is happy with the final product.

Reward team for hard work

A little bit of praise goes a long way. If your team never receives kudos for the hard work they put in, at some point they will begin to lose the drive to want to put in the effort to be productive in doing their job.

Collaboration and teamwork

Enforcing an interactive work-style is the best practice.  It allows your team members to work together in a variety of ways, such as problem-solving. Two heads are often better than one.
